How do I log in to file a tax return as a non-resident taxpayer?
You can log in with your DigiD or an EU-approved login key from your country of residence. And no longer with a user name and password issued by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.
Using DigiD
With DigiD you can log in to Mijn Belastingdienst. Mijn Belastingdienst is your personal platform of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. In Mijn Belastingdienst you can see which data are known to us. And you can manage your tax affairs there. For example, you can file your income tax return and submit or change your bank account number.
DigiD gives you access to personal platforms of other Dutch governmental organisations as well.
Applying for DigiD from abroad
Read more about how you can apply for a DigiD when living abroad.
Do you receive a state pension, or will you receive a state pension soon? In that case, you can apply for a DigiD at the Dutch Social Insurance Bank (SVB). You then do not need to visit a service desk, or video call Netherlands Worldwide. Your activation code will be sent to your home address.
Using an EU-approved login key
Do you not live in the Netherlands, but in another European country? If so, you may be able to log in to Mijn Belastingdienst using an EU-approved login key. With an EU-approved login key you can conduct business online with public authorities across national borders. Do you want to read more, please visit the website of Netherlands Worldwide.
